A really nifty caulking iron, this one was made from a large, industrial size rasp or file. The length of the tool is 7 ½”. It tapers from a hand forged head that is 7/8” diameter, with no neck to a greatest width at the edge of 2 ¾” One side shows the pattern of a large tooth double cut file, while the other has the pattern of a double cut large rasp—producing a fish-scale like pattern. The edge conforms to that of a single crease iron. It would be a great addition to a working set of caulking tools, or to a collection of tools made from files.
