Stanley’s most popular adjustable mortise gage, this one features a rosewood fence and stem, and as both a pair of adjustable mortise points as well as a single point for use as a simple marking gage. All three points are good. This has the internal screw adjustment for the mortise points. The gage, like many No. 77s, is not marked by Stanley, but the brass mustache face plate and screw adjust design are unmistakably Stanley. The adjustment works smoothly and the wood is fine, with most of its original finish. It needs only a light cleaning. Fine.
