Item M14 - HandE Wrench Co. (New Bedford) Patent Pipe Wrench.
The
HandE Wrench Co. produced patented slide adjust nut and pipe wrenches in New
Bedford, Mass for a number of years in the 1920s. Production of the wrenches,
based on a 1923 patent ceased shortly after their production moved from New
Bedford to Hudson, Mass. The nut version of the wrench is much more common than
this, the pipe wrench with serrated jaws. This wrench is a bit over 13 inches
long, closed, and the handle extends to open the jaws a good two inches. This
one works well, and is a good wrench for use, as well as a collection. Easily
