A wrench that is a necessity for any wrench collection this smallest Coes “monkey” wrench is scarce and distinctive. This one is clearly marked, “L. Coes & Co.” and bears the patent date, March 23, 1869 on one side of the upper jaw, and “Worcester / Mass” on the other. This one has some dings and gaping in the jaws and a couple of chips from one side of the diminutive handle. Good.
