Item NART8 - Whaling Bark "Charles W. Morgan" Outfitting for Voyage.
1906/7
This digital print of an original dry plate negative in my collection shows
the famous whaling bark, "Charles W. Morgan" berthed at Centgral Wharf in New
Bedford, Massachusetts. The "Morgan", now preserved at the Mystic (Conn)
Seaport, is here being outfitted in the summer of 1906 or 07 for a subsequent
whaling voyage. The vessel has been cleaned and painted, and is awaiting
the installation of her standing and running rigging, as well as being
provisioned with the casks on the wharf. This print is 8" x 10" and is
suitable for framing. Fine.
