tool for auto mechanics this gage allows the direct measurement of engine
(diesel and gas) distortion due to misalignment or excessive wear of bearings.
Such problems can be determined without dismantling the engine. This example is
in its original fitted wooden box, and contains 10 rods with conical ends,
ranging from 2 3/8 to 18 inches long. The strain gage has graduations to .001”
and is equipped with the No. 696B balancing attachment. The rods need a light
cleaning (no corrosion, rust or pitting). The gage is engraved with an owner's
