Item M26 - Weight Set for Laboratory Pan Balance
Often
when you see a precision laboratory pan balance (in glass case), the original
weight set is either missing or has lost most of its weights. This one, however,
is more complete than most. The fitted wooden case is unmarked by a maker, but
it has the following brass pan weights (in grams): 50, 20, 10, 10, 5, 2, 2, & 1.
Additionally there are smaller metallic (probably aluminum)weights marked in the
following mg weights: 200, 100, 100, and a smaller “L” shaped one that could be
trimmed to a particular needed weight. There is a slot in the case for a pair of
tweezers, but that (easily replaced) is missing. It is a rare set to find. Fine
