Item M20 - Plain-faced Adze-eye Claw Hammer. 8oz.
claw hammer was found in H.H. Cole’s tool chest. It is a fairly simple handle,
distinctive for its oval shaped striking face and the fact that this steel
hammer was originally nickel plated (much of which has flaked away). The hammer
has a head length of 3 ¾ inches, a pronounced tapered poll and adze-eye form.
The hickory handle, probably a replacement extends 10 inches below the head and
is stamped, “Hogan’s”. It has no cracks nor chips Good+
