Sometimes known as a “Persian Drill” this small Archimedean drill has a jointed side handle that rotates the drill shaft when moved up and down. It was formerly used by jewelers and dentists, if is no longer seen in use. This one is in excellent condition and is a show piece for a drill collection. It has no maker marks. It has a brass collet and slide adapter. The collet with accept bit shanks to about 1/8” diameter. The tool stands 7 ½” high sans bit and has a jointed side handle that extends 4 ½ inches from the shaft. The elegantly turned top handle appears to be perfect. It is a small showpiece. Fine.
