A fairly scarce item, this is an example of the original 2100 Yankee brace as made by North Bros in Philadelphia in the 1920s. This example is marked with 1924 and 25 patent dates. It lacks any reference to the Bell System. It has the original brown composition handles, the better finish of the metal, two oil holes in the chuck shell, and the better grade lubricant in the ratchet. It runs exceptionally smoothly, with the ratchet ticking like a clock. There is some tarnish on the chuck shell and the chromium plated on the upper bow is flaking—but it is a great brace for use—one of the best ever made. Easily Good.
